Has my implant stopped working?

Good Morning all.

I’m new here and I was hoping someone could help me please? The thing is I have been using he implanon for the past 2.5 years and I also had one previous to that, but had it removed after 2 so I could have a baby. Anyway it is due to be removed on December 22nd this year. I have never had a period while being on either of the implants, but on Sunday morning I woke up with a period, I had been spotting for a couple of days previously but then it turned into a normal period that I used to get. I am now wondering if the Implanon has stopped working. Any advice??

I had this with one of my implants. I'd lost a lot of weight and my GP said that might've effected the hormone levels. She prescribed the pill for me (I think it was the mini pill but can't remember for sure) to stop the bleeding (I'd been bleeding for a couple of weeks) and booked me in to get the implant replaced early.
