Sorry if this has been raised before but I am pretty new to mumsnet! I am 20 weeks pg and noticed today that breast are started to leak a little . Phoned midwife who said not to worry. But now my mind is in overload and wondering if this is normal. Has anyone else experienced this?

yes I had it with dd1 at about 20wks too and it carried on until i gave birth. your mw is right - nothing to worry about. But it's a pain having to use breast pads before you've even had the baby!

I had that wiht my first child, too...was maybe a few weeks further along then you, but it still came compeltely unexpected, but indeed it is comepltely normal!

Chocalholic1 I had leaky boobs with ds1 from about 20 odd weeks, I used to like it as felt reasurred that I was going to have milk ready for my baby.

Haven't had it with this pregnancy yet, am 34 weeks, haven't even got the yellow colostrum, moomin and 3andnomore did you only have this with first babies??

Thanks girls! You have put my mind at ease. I am being really silly thinking "Argh!!! what if my body thinks I am 40 weeks pregant and goes into labour". I really am hyper about the whole thing. Big relief to find mumsnet.

Midwife seemed more concerned about giving me a lecture on the merits of breastfeeding today than on putting my mind at rest!!!

I leaked colostrum from around 16 weeks in my last pregnancy. This time around I have only leaked a couple of drops every so often. Both are perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

yeah, funnily enough i didn't leak with dd2 although i fully expected to after my pregnancy with dd1
