34 weeks, no appetite and never hungry....?!

Hiya,

Over the last few weeks I've gradually lost my appetite. I pretty much never feel hungry now. Infact, the thought of eating makes me feel quite sick and if I do eat I feel immediately bloated. I can't fit in much more than half a mug of soup (for example). So I'm trying to eat little and often, focussing on fruit and veg.

Is this a common thing? Is it because I literally can't fit much in because the baby is squashing my stomach? Or could it be hormonal, it feels a bit like the first trimester with the food aversions but nothing like the same nausea.

I'm normally a BIG eater and get hungry easily. Seems so odd not to thinking about my next meal!!

I felt like that also 34 weeks, but the last 2 days I can't stop eating. Had started being sick again prior to that so maybe it is hormonal x

I didn't have this myself, but my sister did and survived pretty much the last few weeks eating nothing but ice cream, she just said she felt she couldn't fit anything else in and felt horribly sick. I think it is quite common. Little and often sounds like a good plan!

I was like that, and then after the baby was born I was ravenous and, oddly, couldn't get enough of Mr Kiplings lemon slices.

I was like that from about week 32 to 36. My bump was so high I physically couldn't fit any food in & started suffering with horrendous heart burn. Once my bump dropped slightly my appetite did come back but still not eating as much as I would have done previously, tend to go for little & often. I'm now 40+3 and looking forward to baby arriving and being able to eat normally again.

Exactly what topsy said applied to me too. I'm a bit better now (38 weeks), but still little and often, and don't really fancy big meals.

Actually, now think of it, I lived on jelly and ice lollies for about 4 - 6 weeks.
