39+3 reduced fetal movements- should I call the midwives?

Hi, as the title says I am 39+3 in my first pregnancy. Since Thursday I have noticed that baby seems to be moving quite a lot less than usual (she's been super active throughout the pregnancy). I do still feel her move occasionally but she isn't reacting much when I jiggle my tummy about or eat something sweet or drink something cold.

I feel worried about contacting the midwives as I know they are really busy and it might just be first time nerves but on the other hand I can't shake the anxiety that something isn't right?!

Anyone had any similar experiences? Any midwives out there with advice?

Please help, nervous first time mummy!!! Xxx

In hospital now. Am hooked up to monitors- baby's heartbeat is steady Smile but they agree that she's not moving very much and so are going to 'continue to monitor' for a while.

Thanks for all the lovely replies, will update if anything changes X

Mumtobeyorkshire - Did everything go OK?

Mumtobeyorkshire · 14/09/2014 14:50

Thanks for all your support. Baby is fine, they discharged me at 1am this morning saying that I need to keep monitoring movements and call if anything changes but, for now, baby seems to be just going through a lazy period.

Maybe this is the calm before the storm?! Hoping that next time I go in to the hospital I come out with our baby!!!

Thanks again for your advice posters- made me feel like less of a wally! X
