Anyone had their early labour delayed?

Started having spontaneous contractions at 33w4d and managed to delay it all with drugs. Had my steroids for the babys lungs and have been told if and when I go into labour, they will just allow it to happen.

A friend has told me these drugs only seem to delay labour for 24/48 hrs or so. Im past thatpoint anyways but kind of feel like im just sat waiting Grin

Anyone had early labour delayed? if so when did you then go into established labour?

I went into early labour at 29+6 and was on magnesium for 5 days and given steriods. I went into active labour and gave birth when I was 31 weeks exactly.

So the drugs held off my labour for just over a week.

Ooh a week would be helpful. How was your little one? Hope it was a smooth and healthy birth for you.

I had a complicated pregnancy (low af). He was born with severe symmetrical IUGR. He was very ill and needed venting and had a lot of other problems but he's just the Ross Procedure and is very well :) The birth (twin birth) was quick and smooth which I am thankful for and that extra week made the world of difference :)

I went into labour with DS1 at 28 weeks, had steroid injections and was given drugs to delay labour. DS1 was eventually born 1 day past his due date.

With DS2 I went into labour at 24 weeks and again had steroids to delay labour. DS2 was born at 38+4. With both boys my waters hadn't broken but I was slightly dilated during the weeks labour was paused.

I had an early(ish) labour scare at 35 wks, but didn't dilate and it all stopped when I was given morphine. When I saw my MW she asked if they had given me the steroids (which they hadn't as they felt there would be no need) she said that they could often result in going past due date if labour stopped.

Good luck with it all hope it all works out well :)

I went into labour at 27 weeks, had drugs to stop it and then little man hung in there until 38+0
