I had an early scan today at what I thought was 6+3 and was ecstatic that they found a heartbeat. However they think the baby measured 3mm and dated me at 5+3. Does anyone know if there is a margin of error on measuring?

The nurse said I am anxious due to previous missed miscarriage, but can't help worrying that something is going wrong.....

I think it's natural to be worried, but especially so if you have had a miscarriage.

The sonographer I saw for my early scan said it as not an exact science.

Congratulations on your pregnancy - I know it's hard (currently 9 weeks plus 5) but try and enjoy it if you can Flowers

I was measuring small on all my early scans, I had one every 2 weeks from 5 weeks ish. It caught up at the 13 week scan and then it was exactly where I was expecting it to be, so dont worry I dont think they can be exact until the baby has grown a bit more and is easier to measure.
Congratulations XX
