varicose vein on vulva

I have been experiencing a lot of heavy pressure down below (particularly after sex, for example) I decided to check it out and discovered veins on my labia that have never been there before, looking rather swollen and varicose vein like. After googling, I have established they must be varicose veins. When I checked this morn they were barely noticeable - but I do feel uncomfortable now its toward end of day. I spoke with midwife on the phone who wasn't concerned and said all should be ok. They go after birth. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips if so- and did they go? I have ones on leg that haven't gone and I am going to have to get them removed eventually I think...

Yep, I had these with last 2 pregnancies and they went immediately after birth. Don't panic! They did ache a lot towards the end as well. It was a bit embarrassing giving my boss a fit note from the GP asking for alterations to work due to my vulval varicosities though.....Shock

You might want to sit down a bit more though. They will get worse as the day goes on, especially if you stand a lot.

keepon Ive no advice as I didnt have them in previous pregnancies, but have a few at the moment (35 weeks). I'm lucky as they dont hurt. Horrible looking though. Am also hoping they disappear because if they dont I'll have to get them removed. Dont want my bits to always look as scary as they do right now Blush
