Hi all- tried to post before but didnt work. I am really excited to be 6 weeks and 4 days after conceiving in our first month of trying and I feel so lucky for that. The only thing spoiling this for me is the thought of telling our parents. It is meant to be a wonderful time and whilst I know my mum will be thrilled my dad, gran and partners parents are causing me some serious stress!! My dad and gran have made it clear for quite some time they would not be happy about a baby as we are not married, something which we do not see as an issue. My partners parents rely on him a lot and they live close to us, and I think they will be disappointed he has another commitment now which could make things difficult in my opinion. I'm so worried to lose the lovely relationship I have with my family. We have not rushed into this. I am 30 this year and my partner is a little older. We own our house and have ample financial security to never have to worry about how to provide for our child. We both have our own businesses so there is no concern about job security etc. We both drive safe reliable cars and are fit and healthy. Just wondering if anyone had any advice or had been in a similar situation?

Stick to how you want it to be with no chink in your armour! We are delighted to say that... We are ao happy to share this with you... And if there's any grumble don't justify or argue, just - sorry you feel that way, it must feel bad for you. We are so happy. Dump any bad feelings on them. Go girl!

I agree. You have nothing to be ashamed of so you just have to 'power through' this.
