Hiya mummy's to be,

Me and my husband are going to be first time parents and we are both soooo excited. We are having a baby boy due 30/10/14 and we are naming him Angelo. I am a plus sized mum so i am consultant lead and classsed as high risk. Can be a little scary but so far my pregnancy has been really good. No morning sickness, no HBP, all my bloods and tests have always come back fine, and baby is doing lovely, i feel really lucky.

We have just finished Angelos nursery, Its a jungle theme and i LOVE it, i just keep going in and sitting in there thinking whats its going to be like holding my baby boy in there. Does anyone else do this? Haha! How far along are you on doing your nursery?

We started Anti-natal classes this week but we didnt really think they where for us but at least we gave it a go and hubby feels a tad more involved now. I think the 6 hours on Sunday put me off, i am just to tired to go to a class for 6 hours.

Have you got your hospital bags ready mums? I have mine waiting in Angelos room. I feel like i am taking everything but the kitchen sink! But i wanna be prepared just incase. We have everything we possibly can for Angelo (i went a bit OTT) so just waiting on him arriving now and relaxing till its time. I have my baby shower in two weeks which my best friend is organising so thats something to look forward to. I know nothing about whats happening they wanna surprise me.

Now lets get down to the nitty gritty, the 3rd trimester! Oh my i dont think i have had a good nights sleep yet haha. Rolling over in bed is like a military operation!! Then when i finally manage to roll over, i just get off to sleep and BAM my hips hurting so i need to roll over haha, oh yes its all fun and games aint it! Lets be fair tho on the odd occasion i do manage to get to sleep i then throw up in my mouth from acid reflux. lovely!

Today my actual vagina has been aching (no i have not been doing the deed) my back has been aching, and trying to get up off the couch is SUCH hard work that if the remote is out of reach i WILL sit and watch something mind numbingly boring on TV until i HAVE to get up lol. No way am i moaning tho i am loving this gift of being pregnant and having a baby.

At my last scan a week ago baby boy was head down which is good. How many weeks along are you mummy's? I hope someone actually replies to this, i'd love to chat to some other mums :) xxx

Hi I'm 30+5 with my third dc and am having a girl.
No nursery for us, she'll have to share our room for at least 18 months until we move then she'll go in with her big sister.
I'm struggling to sleep too, I seem to get comfy and nod off about 30 seconds before the dc come in to wake me up!

Almost 34 weeks with baby no2..

No nursery set up. As baby will share our room till about 10 month..
DS moved into his own room and toddler bed (that my husband build) when he was 10 month old, he is turning 1 next week..

Both mine and baby's bag are 90% packed.. Just have to put in stuff that I'm still using now when it is time..

So far easy pregnancy compared to first but started lately getting pelvic griddle pain. Not fun to have when you have a non walking toddler and only help once DH gets of work.

We are expecting a girl this time so it was a different experience shopping for a girl instead of a boy..

Good luck Grin

Hi,

Nleontiou I have the same due date as you and it should be a girl. I’m also a first time parent.
Nursery… work in progress. It has Winnie the Pooh theme because my husband absolutely loves this character. And he still needs to assemble all the furniture.

I’m going to start packing my hospital bag this weekend.

Your description of the 3rd trimester “pleasures” is absolutely spot on. I wake up several times every night because of the feeling that my belly is about to crack open in the middle (well this actually means that I need a pee). Turning and getting comfortable in bed are mission impossible. Plus I “enjoy” strong calf cramps and many times I woke up howling like a wolf from pain and scaring my hubby witless.
I absolutely hate (H A T E !!!) to admit that I find my office chair is the most comfortable piece of furniture nowadays. Neither recliner sofa nor support mattress nor exercise ball cuts it for me. Nevertheless none of these stops me from looking forward to the start of my maternity leave and the end of my daily commute.

Hi there! I also had my first NCT class on Sunday and it was 6 hours, which was quite a lot but was nice to meet lots of people! You don't live in South Wales by any chance?! Wink

Our nursery is sort of forest themed; even though baby will be in with us initially, DP works very long hours so will be handy to have somewhere I can take Bean and shut the door on restless nights, for night feeds etc.

We don't know whether we're having a boy or a girl, so very excited to find out. EDD is 17th November, which feels weirdly both really soon and really far away - things have been dragging the last few weeks! I also have v. low blood pressure (now holding steady at 80/40) and am sick of having to be careful every time I stand up. Ditto on the aching hips too, am now sleeping padded by 3 different cushions to get comfortable, but every time I turn over I have to reposition them, which is a pain.

Ten weeks to go though and it'll all be worthwhile Grin

Hi Ladies,

Am 36+3 with baby no.1 due 4th Oct. We don't know if it's a boy or a girl so there is no pink or blue here....yet!

We are having to have a major move around of rooms to accommodate our new arrival and it all starts later this week...talk about cutting it fine! I figured that if baby arrives early, we'll work it out!

I've had a pretty easy pregnancy so far compared to some. 1st trimester was knackering and nauseous, but no actual sickness. Bloomed in trimester 2. Now it's knackering again with lots of aches and pains. Generally, I'll have a really crappy day in lots of pain/tiredness, take it easy and feel heaps better the next day.

Trying to stay fit (ish) with pregnancy yoga, which is helping me gear up for the great unknown....labour. How is everyone feeling about this?

31 weeks here. EDD 13th Nov with a little boy who is wriggling away as I type.
Sleeping is just starting to suffer now. Aching back and legs being my major issue. I work in retail so stand up all day 5 days a week. I originally was looking at going on maternity on the 2nd Nov but think I may have to move it earlier.
We start NCT in 3 weeks and I do feel that it is mainly for other half to get his head round labour and for me to make some mummy mates.

I'm just coming up to 30 weeks with my first, due date is 21st November. The spare room is now the nursery and its decorated and ready, even though we're planning on having our little one in with us for about 6 months. I go and sit in there every now and then and think about our baby girl.
We're hoping to have a home birth, as its been a pretty straightforward pregnancy so far (touch wood) and I'm low risk, but will pack a bag just in case we need to transfer to hospital (3 miles down the road).
We're booked for NCT classes in October, and I'm going to pregnancy yoga classes, swimming, and trying to stay as active as possible.
