So Angry!! [angry]

This is just a little rant really i am currently 10 weeks pregnant!
I had my first MW appointment at 6 weeks due to my holiday and her holiday in the way so had it early!

I have not received nothing in the post since so rang up local midwife liaison office they put me through to the hospital to the antenatal clinic only to find my mid wife has not sent them anything so no scan or nothing has been booked! Luckily i had rung as i needed to find out when appointment was so i could tell work! Currently waiting for a call back from a nice lady that i spoke to!

But im so angry this is my first pregnancy i have no clue what im doing i thought my mid wife would at least know what she is doing!

Kind of feeling let down glad i didn't wait any longer!

That's shit, I'm angry on your behalf.

I'm sure they will get you an appointment, there are plenty of women who don't know they are pg till 8-10 weeks and most places can squeeze in a scan at short notice.

Do you know if you have to see that particular midwife again?

I'd be half tempted to complain. In a polite way, but still - you could have just kept on waiting for a letter that never arrived!

Yer she is at my doctors but i wont be seeing her on till end of october, I'm ment to be consultant led but have not herd anything back about that either!

Women from the clinic rang me back saying she has now got my notes and i have been added to the pile but they have had a large number of pregnancy so my scan might not be at 12 weeks it might be later, so im hoping it will still be in time for all the tests!

If it does end up to late i think shit will hit the fan! lol

I know how you feel, the first midwife I saw was awful, got my height and weight wrong, wrote down that I don't speak English (?!), was extremely judgemental about my MH history and pushed me into accepting a CAFCASS referral when I wasn't sure luckily for me, I moved house and into a new area, so I now have a different team of midwives, who are far more competent. It also transpired at my 16 week appointment that the first midwife put the wrong name on my blood tests, so there were no results!
If it feels to you like there are competency issues, ask to see a different midwife. I'm sure your scan will be sorted now, though, and after that things should all be sorted out internally by the hospital.

Don't panic, the tests can be done from 10 weeks up until 14 weeks so you have time (they also might date you differently to your dates so could end up being more or less pregnant than you thought). If your going to be consultant led then you won't see your midwife much anyway but hopefully she'll be a bit more organised in future, just blame her being in holiday mode!

Don't worry, the same thing happened to me. The midwife who came to see me was lovely, but she went on holiday straight after and I assume just forgot to do all our paperwork/register us/whatever happens and I didn't realise until she didn't come to our booking in appt. I called the hospital, got another midwife's number and they came to see me 3 days later, scan date letter arrived after the weekend. Hopefully it will all work out :)

My midwife ticked a few wrong boxes and put down that I was in care and unsupported through pregnancy. OH was somewhat surprise when checking over my notes with me one night And it took three attempts before the correct address was on the front of my notes, which I'm about to ruin by moving in exactly one month.
