Shocker of a morning

So went to hospital today with spotting and awful pelvic pain (feels like at the end of a pregnancy you know when babies getting ready but a lot worse) to do a sample and be handed a very positive pregnancy test. Blood hcg results were 5920 so good (apparently?)
They are concerned about ectopic pregnancy and have sent me home terrified, scan tomorrow morning, is that normal?
Said cervix is closed and high and a small graze prob from sex is the cause of the spotting (or likely to be unless anything shows in my womb tomorrow) and she had a good feel and said my womb feels "bulky" which she said is a good sign, but no hopes up and just try to not worry until the scan tomorrow
so obviously im worrying, she said the pelvic pain maywell be from hormones as I did suffer badly with my ds. has anyone else had this and been ok?
Its happy news, the pregnancy I mean but I feel like me and DH cant enjoy it because tomorrow it might be took away from us, hes trying to keep a brave face on, I cried

Sounds stressful!
I had a suspected ectopic pregnancy when I experienced a lot of abdominal pain at about 7 weeks pregnant. There was no one available to scan me that day (it was a Sunday morning) so they kept me in over night and did a trans-vaginal scan (they said it was too early to do an abdominal scan) on the Monday morning. Baby was in the right place and I even saw the heartbeat (he's now a very active and happy almost 11 month old boy) but it was a tough wait! The doctor said the pain was probably just ligaments stretching but it was very uncomfortable.
Best of luck!

Thank you, doctor was very reassuring and they only scan in EPAU in the mornings at the weekend but to be fair to them im booked in as first apt tomorrow morning at 8.45 so they really are scanning me as soon as possible, but youre right it is a long hard wait.
Id say the pain is tolerable but that said I do have a very un-natural tolerance of pain so not sure tbh. She said they will try an abdominal scan first but will likely need a transvaginal one as the hcg levels put me anywhere between 5-7 weeks she said but im not all that clued up on HCG levels so I will take her word for that.
I think the worst is the not knowing, even if its bad news tomorrow at least we will know and can move forward it sounds awful but right now I need me to be ok I have 3 other young children who need me so I just want to know what im dealing with, patience most definitely not being one of my virtues

Hope your scan goes well. I'm 18 weeks now but was in a similar situation to you with right sided pain and spotting. Had a scan which put me at 6.2, saw a heartbeat too. Scan was abdominal by the way. Turns out I had a nasty uti. Just wanted to reassure you, hope you have a positive outcome too.

Just to say scan went ok saw a sac in my womb so just have to wait for dating scan now. No reason shown to suggest bleeding is coming from the womb so probably just the cervix so fingers crossed for healthy baby in may
