Sciatica?

Feeling very frustrated with this sciatic like pain that I've had for the past few days. I've a shooting pain down the back of my left leg to my foot and my leg feels generally a bit weak. Oh and the cherry on the cake my hips are killing me during the night too. Might book myself some physio/osteo/chiro treatment, any idea which might be the most beneficial? Any tips much appreciated. I'm only 18 weeks with dc3.

Chiro or osteopath definitely. They will help ensure your pelvis is in right place.

Deffo recommend Chiro, I've had SPD for about 2months, my midwife finally referred me for physio, but as I am so far gone in the pregnancy now I could only get 2 apts and found they did nothing. Been seeing a chiropractor who I've found is brilliant, she commented on how much easier it looked for me to walk the other day, and I've found it so much easier. I'm due next week, so hoping that the pain won't stay after pregnancy.

Thanks for your help, think I'll look up a Chiropractor and give it a try. Can't put up with this, been reduced to tears this afternoon. It's not helped by the fact that I have to walk a total of 4 miles a day (school run)

Hey, ive had on and off sciatica. I go to yoga once a week and that really helps to. My yoga teacher told me to do 'the pigeon pose', which she demonstrated to me, but if you google it you may be ablt to work it out. It really stretches the sciatic nerve and is comforting! I also use the deep freeze patches which have helped me to :)
Hope it settles soon xx

I had horrific sciatica in the early teen weeks. I remember crying to DH after three weeks of solid pain because I couldn't take it anymore and thought my whole pregnancy would be marked by this pain. We have an exercise bike and I got on that and just went for it, next day no pain! I had to get on the bike quite a few more times but am fast approaching my due date and haven't suffered any sciatica for about ten weeks. Good luck, hope it works out like that for you too.

Thanks tuffginger :) hope you can get some help with the pain soon, it really is horrible trying to get about and having to walk places which can't be avoided!
