with first responce its 4 days before period due...

incy · 22/09/2006 12:39

Aout 10-14 days after conception - I did a pregnancy test the day before AF due and it was negative. However, I knew I ovulated late in my cycle (CD19) so tested again a week later and it was positive.

GSH · 22/09/2006 13:28

What if you have tested on day AF is due and it shows a BFN?

OP posts:
trace2 · 22/09/2006 13:32

wait 48 to test ahain

dawnie1 · 22/09/2006 13:35

Just to let you know - my pregnancy test didn't show positive until day 36 of my cycle and AF was due on day 28. Thank goodness I didn't drown my sorrows with a bottle of wine when it was negative on day 28, 32 and 35.
Very faint positive on day 36 - confirmed pregnant by a blood test on same day.

GSH · 22/09/2006 13:36

So you were like a week late before you found out?

OP posts:
trace2 · 22/09/2006 13:36

it all depends when you ovulated ,you could ovulte late for a number of resons

trace2 · 22/09/2006 13:37

and theres some on here found out weeks after

dawnie1 · 22/09/2006 13:42

Yep I was 8 days late when it was finally confirmed. Also, I knew exactly my ovulation date and conception date because we were undergoing fertility treatment and the drugs they gave me forced me to ovulate exactly 36 hours after the injection so no confusion there.
Some pregnancies just start with a very low HCG level which takes longer than average to rise. This doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the pregnancy or baby, its just one of those things !?!

Good Luck

GSH · 22/09/2006 13:58

Did you have any symptoms?

OP posts:
dawnie1 · 22/09/2006 14:02

Yes sore heavy boobs, bloated tummy and felt very tired. I was absolutley convinced I was pregnant and couldn't believe the tests kept showing negative. I had fertility treatment for 5 months prior to this which had failed and I knew it had failed and that I wasn't pregnant way before AF was due but this particular month I felt 100% sure so I kept testing. AF had always arrive on day 28 every month before this so that was another indication.

GSH · 22/09/2006 14:13

See this is whats getting to me I have nothing, no symptons, no BFP and no AF. Although I am only 1 day late.

I got a + result from an early ebay test 7 days past ovualtion
Should show by day Af is due, make sure you used first morning wee though

GSH · 22/09/2006 14:33

Okay what are the best tests then?

OP posts:
incy · 24/09/2006 20:09

clearblue was good for me -not the digital one as requires higher levels of hormone to show positive . If negative 1 day after period due I would wait a couple of days (I waited another week) and then test again if no AF

GSH · 25/09/2006 10:25

Am now 3/4 days late - still BFN still no AF, still no symptoms. WTF is going on. Its messing with my head. I think Ive done every test know to man.

GSH as I said I was 7 days late (with no AF) before even an early response test showed a positive. Do you know if you ovulate late in your cycle? If you have not ovulated until about day 20 (like me) it is going to take some time before the hormone levels are sufficient to show up on a test - takes about 10-14 days after conception. I know it must be a worry but try to relax or go and see your GP if you can't do this.

GSH · 26/09/2006 10:50

I was going to see my GP this morning but receptionist wasnt friendly at all. Tested negative this morning as well. Im sorry to be boring but its just doing my head in. Im 17 days from conception, 4/5 days late.

I used a cheap early response test 4 days before my af was due and I got faint bfp. I waited until AF was late and went to GP surgery with an early morning wee sample, but they would not confirm it with sample I gave them as they said it was taking too long for the positive line to appear. I had no pg symptoms, so obviously it was just taking a while for the hcg levels to rise. I took another sample to GP 2 days later and this time they said it was definitely positive.

It definitely messes with your head when nothing will confirm things for you. Hope you get a definite answer soon. Your hormone levels may just be slow like mine were.

Thanks for all your posts - they've been really helpful to me. I did one last night and this morning - both neg. But things just don't feel right. I was due on Sunday and I feel periody.... I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I am going mad though!!

GSH · 27/09/2006 09:09
