Sleeping on front - good or bad?

What positions do you find best for sleeping?
Before becoming pregnant I always slept on my front, never on my back and hardly ever on my side.
I'm now 22 +2 and have a good size bump yet still manage to sleep comfortably on my front.
Is this dangerous for my baby? I worry that I'm squashing it, but as Iìm comfy I usually end up on my front.

My midwife told me it's safe. Your baby is well protected. I slept on my tummy till very late. The only position considered less safe, is lying flat on your back in later pregnancy as you can reduce blood flow in major vessels once baby is big enough to squash them - but if you accidentally sleep on your back, don't worry. Normally if this blood flow is reduced, you will feel dizzy and wake up - so you'd correct it. They don't have much evidence that this is bad for your baby, and most pregnant women will end up sleeping on their backs at some point most nights as you can't control what you do in your sleep.

I'm lucky that I actually sleep on my left anyway but what missing said is very true, as long as you are comfortable then go ahead and sleep however you can! Your body and it will tell you if it isn't happy anymore!

As you reach the 3rd trimester bump gets much bigger and you will naturally gravitate to your side over time - get plenty of pillows to prop you in the most comfortable position you can find.

Impossible in 3rd trimester!

Enjoy it while you can, I'm usually a front sleeper, and hate being stuck on my side :(

I still sleep sort-of on my front at 36 weeks, I have a long squishy pillow propping up the bump and one leg on one side.

I slept on my front until about 7.5 months, with my knee kind of up to make an angle for my bump...

I had to stop sleeping on my front when any kind of pressure on the bump made the baby go mad with the kicks. No way I was getting any sleep with that going on! Currently sleeping at a kind of halfway point between front and side propped up on a pillow and leg.

Haha, 19+4 here bad currently sleeping on my front because I can feel the kicks better Grin
