Hi everyone, I've just done a test at work and it's positive. I'm happy - but also very scared. I had PND last time, and I had a relapse in Jan that I'm still on Ads for. I suffer with anxiety (a recent development) and had a huge panic attack followed by feeling very depressed last week - but now I wonder if that was caused by pregnancy hormones? Has anyone had anything similar? XX

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Ring your gp and tell them you have done a positive pregnancy test in case you need to have a change of meds to be compatible with your pregnancy. Every pregnancy is different so try to stay calm. You need to start (if you are not already) taking folic acid.

Hi I also had very bad postnatal depression after having my first child, I was under a psyctrist, mental health team, sleeping tablets and citalopram. I recovered pretty quickly once I got the help I needed.

I'm now 32 weeks pregnant (my son turned 2 in march)

I have started suffering very badly again and was having bad anxiety and very intrusive thoughts. I was put under mental health team again for a few week and referred to prenatal psyctrist and specialist midwife. I've also been put on 50mg of setraline. I'm feeling alot better, although its not completely gone I have appointments already for after birth of baby to mointer me and health visitor has also been to see me and will be keeping a close eye, if I develop any symptoms at least I no what to look our for now and can get help quickly.

I didn't no what was wrong with me after the birth of my first son I also had severe anxiety and eneded up Suicideal. It was an awful time.

I think hormones to play big part as I was fine before I fell pregnant again so just go to your doctor and explain how your feeling xx

Thank you, I'm going to see my Gp soon. It's a scary prospect after pnd isn't it but I feel strangely calm after finding out. Xx

Hi Groovster - could you go back to your GP and tell him/her that you're struggling? I'm sure there will be something they can do.XX

Hi all

I have suffered with miscarriages in the past and I am currently suffering really badly with anxiety - I am 23 weeks.
I was signed off for 2 weeks and am back at work on a phased return, have good and bad days but am fighting for more help from my midwife, but know there isn't much they can do! Its my own paranoia!
Don't beat yourself up - My doctor told me that some people cope better than others, doesn't make you a bad person!

Good luck xxx
