Baby now on eviction notice

I am 36+6 today and I am ready for this baby to come out. I know it is a patience and waiting game but baby is very big. Estimate after multiple growth scans is that baby is currently 8lbs.

I know that there is nothing I can do and it is up to baby when she wants to come out. But I have to have another growth scan next Friday. If baby continues to grow quickly then they want to talk c-section. Up until now I have had a smooth pregnancy and ideally wanted to do my best to have an active labour. I know that things can change once you're there and intervention and c section can happen in any labour. But I just want to give it a go.

Sorry, I know there is nothing do and I am just tired and hormonal and needed to rant. I am going to go and bounce on my ball to try and get baby engaged on cervix!!

Good luck! I'm 39 weeks and ready for this baby to make an appearance!

I am in a similar position misty, 36+6 today with an estimated weight of 8lbs at my 36 week growth scan. I am seeing my own consultant on Thurs as the Dr I saw last week pretty much said 'tough luck'. I am very worried about shoulder dystocia or hypoxia for him and tearing/damage to me so for me I dont want to give it a go! Its not much fun being huge, knackered and hormonal so you have my every sympathy.

I'm having a big baby too according to multiple growth scans I'm currently 37+2.

I mentioned this on another thread but I was recommended to have reflexology from 36 weeks, it's specifically for inducing labour. It feels amazing apart from anything else so well worth it even if it doesn't work, I believe it will though! I am also taking raspberry leaf capsules, bouncing on the birth ball and keeping active.

I went 10 days over with DS but made no attempt to try and get baby moving before EDD as my DH was away until a day before! This time I figure anything is worth a go but I'm staying quite relaxed about it.

I'm 35+2 today, but going to start reflexology specifically for getting it out at 38 weeks. 37 weeks would be too soon for me, and I have a ridiculous amount of faith in it working (naïve fool that I am!). My doula is on call as of 38 weeks, so that's a safe date for me! No idea on size at the moment, but have a scan next Monday.

Going to get induced at 41 weeks due to my age, so definitely needs to be out before then.

I dont think reflexology is a foolproof method, in fact they are not permitted to claim it can bring on labour, but it's bloody nice and relaxing so well worth it. I have been getting it weekly from my midwife team, its fantastic. I'm 39+3 and it hasn't brought baby out yet!

ohthegoats · 26/08/2014 13:38

Lalalalalala fingers in ears... Wink

SuzanneSays · 26/08/2014 13:45

Feeling the pain, I'm 40+3 and desperate to meet baby now! I was absolutely positive that that our PFB would be born at 38 weeks...wishful thinking eh!

dreamingofwineandcheese · 26/08/2014 13:47

Not all practitioners of reflexology are trained in all areas, my practitioner is trained in maternity and fertility reflexology. I was told by the midwife who recommended it who to go to as she is a practitioner herself (but couldn't recommend herself as I was at an NHS class she was running).

Like I say if it doesn't work then it's enjoyable anyway.

It's actually my due date today 40 weeks and I have absolutely no signs that he will be evicting hisself anytime soon! I have no idea why but my worst fear is having a big baby and I know the longer he's in my belly the bigger he's going to get! I know I have no control but it just panics me... 12 days at the most and he'll be in my arms Grin
