Waters or discharge?

I'm 37 weeks with dc3. With both previous labours my waters went with a massive gush (one in late 1st stage and one at the beginning of labour).
I've had lots of discharge over the last few weeks and normally use a liner but forgot today. It was fine until this eve when I noticed my pants were v soggy (but not enough to go through to jeans). This happened over the course of an hour is so between loo visits.
I think I had a show on sat and have had the odd hour or so of contractions over the last few days so feel something could be imminent.
Those of you who had waters go with a trickle- how did you know?
Also, as I'm booked for a home birth, does it matter that much at this stage or would I just wait and see anyway?

If its your waters you do need to know. Pop a pad on then lie down on your back for a couple of hours. When you stand you might get a small gush. Either way if the pad is damp, ask to have it checked, there is a test they can do apparently

Smell it, seriously. If it's your waters it'll have a sort of sweet scent to it, you'll know if it's wee or discharge.

I'm 38 weeks and have had this too. Mine is discharge but do pop a pad on as it may be your waters!

I had exactly the same at the same stage had a show at 36+3 then a few days later started having a really watery "discharge" I was sent to pau for blood pressure monitoring a couple of days later so queried it mw said no my cervix was closed it was discharge. Went in at 37+5 with twinges and I knew my baby was breech I was 5cm when I was examined so they did a quick scan to double check position and doc asked if my waters had gone as there wasn't a lot of fluid I explained what I'd had and he said my hind waters had been trickling so I was right and mw was wrong, get it checked if you're unsure good luck!
