Now that summer seems to be over (at least, it does where I am) I'm in need of a coat to last me until November/ December time (I'm due beginning of November but not taking it for granted that my normal clothes will fit for a while. Due to the short time frame I'll be using the coat, I don't really want to be spending any more than £40-£50 maximum. It needs to be suitable for work too.

I've tried the usuals of ASOS (had some that fitted the bill but were size 6....I'll need size 10), New Look, mothercare, mamas and papas, asda, tesco, eBay but now I'm stuck :(

Anyone got any ideas please?

what about these? I've been looking too and these are the only ones I can find, really. www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/pp+maternity-coats-and+jackets

hope this helps!

I got my maternity duffle coat from Debenhams 3 years ago and they have a couple on their website now. Has lasted quite well and been borrowed by friends, got to give it a wash this week I think ready for me to wear until mid-November :-)

Thank you both- I'll have a look at those sites on my lunch break today :)

Maternity clothing seems to come in store/online really late, so there might not be much choice now but if you can wait a couple of weeks you might see more come in. When I was looking at maternity clothes early last spring I remember there being lots of coats on Asos, Topshop etc, so give it a few weeks and hopefully you'll start seeing more choice.

I have been wondering this, I am due in Feb so defo need a coat, however the maternity ones I've seen are not all that nice. I still want to dress like me! Would a non maternity one in a size up work? I would leave it undone?

I got a non-maternity coat for my last pregnancy which I will use again this time round. I went for a duffel coat, as the toggles are nice and high up over the chest and the tummy area is generally looser. I went 2 sizes up and it was perfect for right up to 9 months. There seemd to be alot more choice available in the non-maternity range, and I though I would have more chance of selling/passing it on later.

Its this kind of style: www.clothingattesco.com/coats+jackets/f+f-faux-fur-trim-duffle-coat-with-wool/invt/bt422206&bklist=icat,4,shop,catgwomens,womens-coats-and-jackets
but without the furry collar bit!

How about this one - it can be worn after pregnancy as well.

I've just typed a reply out to everyone and lost it :(

Mssleepyhead- I'll try to hold out a couple of weeks then and have a look. I should have thought ahead when first finding out I was pregnant- bet there would have been some good bargains on winter coats!

Seasaltmill- I'm wearing a normal coat a size up but now it won't fasten over my bump (30 weeks tomorrow). I'm going to try a similar coat to the one suggested by GailLondon.

GailLondon- I'll try something like that at the weekend. Thanks :)

Sarahfa83- that's nice, but not sure it'll keep me warm until the end of the year. Thank you though!
