Hi everyone!

First time posting in this section, although I am constantly in aibu.

I posted a thread in there not so long ago, about how myself and my partner had decided not to have children because of my health problems (I have severe crohns disease and RA - I'm only 27 btw). We were pretty heartbroken, but thought it for the best and we started using condoms.

Obviously we didnt start using them in time!! Did a pregnancy test just to rule out being pregnant as I was having just about every early pregnancy symptom in the book, and it came up positive!! I flew to Tesco and bought 4 more (clearblue digital on special offer fyi, 2 for a tenner!) Yup, those all come back positive too. My last period was end of May, so looks as though we could be as far on as 12 weeks now, although my periods have never really been regular so we're waiting to the first antenatal appointment next thursday to see what they say!

Also have an emergency appointment with my consultant this Thursday as it will need to be a consultant led pregnancy, with more regular scans and a section (I have lots of fistulas - a normal birth would burst me)

But yes, I'm so excited but terrified at the same time :D

Congrats!

I have a friend with Crohns who loves being a mum btw. She was well looked after by her docs. :)

Wow congratulations so happy for you Flowers

squizita, that is really good to hear! It is worrying me a bit, but I know and trust my consultant and surgeon, and know they will do the best for me. I really want my surgeon to do the section but I know it wont be possible as he is a colorectal surgeon :( would just feel so much better if it was him because I know him so well (we're on first name terms now!)

Thank you everyone
