I am looking at getting one of these instead of a moses basket to have downstairs when baby sleeps. I intend to have a bednest or snuzpod upstairs in the bedroom for the first 6 months.

Do you think this will work, and what have your experiences been of the Tiny Love Rocker Napper?

It does look good but do bear in mind that one of the key advantages of a Moses basket is being able to carry them upstairs with you at bedtime without having to transfer them into another cot / crib and so risk waking them.

My babies when tiny never managed to sleep through being put down in a new bed - even when it had been warmed with a hot waterbottle beforehand.

OOh I hadn't thought of that....does carrying a baby in a basket not squish them?

Interesting- health visitor was adamant I shouldn't carry ds in moses basket due to head heavy! To be fair most eves he falls asleep on me or dh then put into basket upstairs

Hmm, I can see how it would be good if you have a baby who peacefully snoozes off in their chair. I've never met a baby who actually did that though...

My two resolutely refused to sleep anywhere but on me for bloody ages, so my feeling would be to buy a basic Moses basket so if they refuse to go near it you haven't wasted too much money. And honestly, I don't see the point in combining bed and bouncy chair - the main benefit of bouncy chairs is that they are small and light so you can put the baby down in bathroom while you shower, or in the bedroom while you sort washing etc etc. I wouldn't want to lug that thing around the house.

So a thumbs down from me. I have never actually seen one though, so feel free to ignore!

Moses baskets are designed to safely carry a baby around the house in - they won't squash the baby as they are a proper stiff basket padded and lined with a mattress inside and securely attached handles.

We always tended to have a bedside cot so for the first couple of months if baby fell asleep downstairs and would allow itself to be moved into the basket, we'd then carry the basket upto bed with us and pop the whole thing into the bedside cot.

You do only tend to get a couple of months use out of them before baby gets too big / wriggly so it's often worth borrowing one / buying cheap.

Just to add, the advantage with something quite small and enclosed like a Moses basket or crib is that some babies feel happier being in a smaller space and so sleep better (slightly) than in a proper cot.

Although most will end up refusing to sleep anywhere other than your chest anyway!

Seems like an over engineered product tbh. I'd rather have a cheap bouncy chair to put the baby down in the kitchen, bathroom, wherever and a basket for them to sleep in.

I wonder how much of a faff it is to change from one to another. Even at 3 months, none of mine would happily lie in an enclosed space unless asleep, so would have wanted regular changes between chair and bassinet thingy.

I was told that babies should never be carried in a moses basket due to the high incidence of the handles breaking. Im fairly sure mine came with a warning on too.

Hmm ok, would they not get the enclosed feeling from being swaddled?

They might, but not round their face, and a fair number of babies hate swaddling.

Ive got a Napper but ive bought it second hand for dc2 who is yet to be born. I plan on using it in the living room and have a crib in the bedroom. Yet to review it as baby isnt here yet but I do love gazing at it!

It seems like a good product and for £30 im happy. I think its overpriced new .

Its incredibly easy to get it from seat to flatand vice versa positions - and baby can stay in it.

I saw one in kiddicare as I was thinking of getting one. I wasnt that impressed when I saw it.

I have one of these and I absolutely love it. Ds has slept in it very happily and looks really comfy and i just pick him up when I go to bed, feed him and put him down in his basket in the bedroom. Might not work so well for a baby who doesn't transfer so easily but I've never been happy carrying a baby in a Moses basket as I'm quite clumsy and kept bashing it into door frames

Both of my DCs slept mostly in their bouncy chair when downstairs. We never bothered with a Moses basket, you can't bounce it with your foot! I think they look great but I wouldn't buy new.
