So Monday morning I had a show, Monday evening I had 8 hours of regular contractions that soon stopped and fizzled out.
I now have the odd contraction now and again, after phoning midwife who said it's the latent phase I'm wondering how long this will last!

Mine lasted a couple of days both times but was more intense than you describe (couldn't sleep with a contraction every 10 mins). I think a lot of people experience it without even realising it so everyone's body is different.

I kept moving, walking to the shops, around the block etc. I don't know how long it will last for you but that certainly speeds it up.

Good luck, it is all progress (although I remember how frustrating it was). Hopefully it will all kick off properly soon!!

I had 24 hours of contractions (painful ones) before I was 4cm. My friend had 50 hours and was still only 3cm.

Every time I try do something I get a huge contraction and have to go bounce on my ball lol by the time it's done I forget what I was doing!
I may take a walk tonight with my partner n see if that helps but daytime I'm alone so don't want to venture too much.

It took me 30 hours to get to 4cm, mild at first but after 16hrs strong enough to need G&A for them. Everyone's different though so you won't know how long it'll take 'til it's over. And yes as Chunderella points out, whilst the first 4cm took 30hrs the remaining 6cm only took 4!

Yes, definitely can move quickly. My second birth is recorded as 31 minutes of active labour as I went from hovering around 3cm to fully dilated in 1 hour. All the professionals would comment on how quick it was when they saw the paperwork - I personally counted the 35 hours of latent phase before as being significant!!

It's hard to know as I was 7cm with the first examination, but I think I had around 12 hours of latent phase, (contractions becoming painful by the end, close from the start, but not completely regular) followed by 18 hours active (intense, close, regular contractions) labour. Midwives recorded this as an 11 hour labour. It wasn't, I just held off calling them as long as I could!!

I had no symptoms at all beforehand though; my labour started with my waters breaking.

So again today I had a few hours of regular strong contractions and they have fizzled out again lol

It sounds like your body is getting ready for baby to come. Just keep resting when it lets you, and keep moving during those contractions. Good luck!!
