so before I went to bed I was very uncomfy with what I thought were braxton hicks. Managed to get a little bit of broken sleep before waking my partner up to get me some paracetamol as the pain was getting worse. It is there constantly and every so often I get some like stabbing pains all over. Bump has gone very hard and I keep having to go for a wee (more than usual). Took the paracetamol about 2 hours ago and it has eased a little but unable to get comfortable enough in bed to sleep. I'm 37+5 and know baby is head down and engaged.

What does anyone else who is unfortunately awake at this time think? Labour or water infection? should point out this is DC2 but didn't go in to spontaneous labour last time so not sure what early stage labour feels like

Does it burn when you pee or is your urine cloudy?

If you're worried about uti best thing is to phone midwife or out of hours Gp to get tested. Otherwise I don't know from your symptoms what it sounds more like!

I had water infection that felt like early labour, you need to ser a dr asap (even if contractions have stopped) to get tested. If it is a water infection it can bring on early la our so yo need antibiotics.

Thanks everyone! Finally got some more sleep from about five until half 6 and it does seem to me that its more likely to be a water infection so will phone my gp when they open at half 8 for an appointment.

Fingers crossed its a water infection and its sorted quickly, would like little lady to hang on in there for a bit longer yet
