Best maternity jeans

So at almost 9 weeks pregnant I am bursting out of my jeans / all trousers and basically on a cooler day have nothing to wear. 2nd baby and and been eating like a horse to stop the nausea and a hell of a lot bigger already than this point last time around.

I have just been through my old maternity wear bag. Lots of useful bras and tights but only two very sad looking pairs of jeans. I can't stand to look at either and know they will be too baggy now as I wore them to the end with DD at 42 weeks.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best maternity jeans out there? I prefer a skinny style and over bump maternity band bit. Budget not major problem as I'll pretty much wear nothing else for 9 months! Ideally under £100.

If you have skinny legs H&M have good ones. I personally have chunky legs and found only Mama's and Papas fit comfortably. Personally I could tell a massive difference in quality when I tried them on. But not much choice style wise

I tried literally everything on the market and returned so many pairs. In the end the only ones I liked were Topshop Leigh maternity jeans, they're skinny as you said you liked but the band is just so much softer and more flexible than any others. Had them in about 3 colours and lasted the duration, all packed away now for next time.

Debenhams Red Herring I find are quite flattering and look like regular jeans. Often on offer too.

Nothing from Mothercare! Fall down all the time or split along the seam for the over the bump panel :(
I can't find any I like :(

Next relaxed skinnies are fab and very soft but they do slightly fall down leaving a builders bump. Although I have found that maternity tops do tend to be longer so hide this.

I bought 3 pairs from Next at around 18wks (1 dark skinny, 1 dark boot cut and 1 coral skinny) all around £22 each. Now at 36wks and they are still going strong. The denim can definitely last a few wears without that awful bunching at the knees and I find the over bump panel really comfortable. Recently they had loads on the clearance section of Next online so that may be worth a look Smile

I loved h&m for jeans, so comfy!

Seraphine are well worth the investment.

I was in mothercare straight leg under bump from 14-20ish weeks but now am 26 wks and they cut across bottom of the bump too much. I've tried so many different offerings now and nothing suits. Finally have settled on a pair of straight leg Next over bump but they are a bit too baggy really and fall down as I go up stairs... Oh well at least they are comfy around the bump.. Would prefer a skinny style but the effort of getting them on and off was too much!!

Topshop Leigh every time
Shit quality, great fit
Result was I bought one pair in 2 colours they replaced every few weeks!!!!

I am in love with topshop jeans, I got a pink pair that i love, also love the MOM style jeans for warmer days, lovely comfy fit. Got the pair that is ripped at the knees for a night out coming up. Super comfy and stylish, £38 each but I would say it's worth it.

polkadotdelight · 17/08/2014 22:27

I have only tried the new look ones but I really like them and at 15.99 it was worth a go.

Gap do good maternity jeans - only sell online, and their maternity leggings are the best I've tried, don't go saggy at / behind the knees.

Gooseysgirl · 17/08/2014 22:37

Mine came from Top Shop three years ago and worn extensively through two pregnancies and have now passed them on to my pregnant DSis.. I think they were 'Baxter'

LightTripper · 18/08/2014 00:23

I had H&M and found them VG. Skinny style (quite stretchy) and over bump. I wore them the first couple of months post birth too (only really stopped with the hot weather, too many layers over stomach what with vest and top for bf as well...)

mrshjb · 18/08/2014 07:32

I've just bought some h&m over the bump straight leg jeans. They're 29.99 and really comfy. When the panel is hidden you can't tell they're mat jeans at all. I tried the skinny ones and I couldn't get them over my legs and I'm not remotely a bigger person! I'd say go up a size as well if you buy them, they're pretty small fitting.

Purpleflamingos · 18/08/2014 07:37

I got mine from red herring at debenhams over the bump ones teamed with an Isabelle Oliver waterfall cardi. H&m for work clothes, their black under the bump skinny trousers were great but always felt like they were about to fall. That's just how under the bump clothes made me feel. Much prefer over the bump clothes.

BeginnerSAHM · 18/08/2014 07:42

Another vote for TopShop Leigh jeans. Really soft and comfortable yet hold their shape and don't go baggy. I have them in indigo (Jean colour) and black - where the black ones for work as they don't look denimish and are a pure solid black.

Missingcaffeine · 18/08/2014 08:23

I got some new look over the bump ones. They fit early on around 16 weeks and still fit at 35. They're not a perfect fit, but they're not bad either. They were the best I found and reasonably priced

Ellisisland · 18/08/2014 08:31

I have asos own brand maternity ones and they are fab. The whole asos basics maternity range is really good.
