SPD help

I am 39+6 and developed SPD at 37 weeks. I also have a bulging lumbar disc.

This morning I woke at 5.15am needing to pee but I just couldn't get up out of bed. It took until 6.05am. My bladder is now in agony.

I can get my feet on the floor without issue. I can lever my upper body from flat to 45 degrees without issue. I cannot get to a straight sitting or standing position though. It normally hurts but today was horrendous.

Tips? Ideas? Help?

I am terrified to get back into bed.

I'm 37 weeks and suddenly suffering, though not as bad as you I think.

Have you maybe tried sleeping upright? That's my next port of call if getting out of bed gets harder. I have one of those slightly bouncy ikea chairs with a foot stall that I'm going to get DH to drag into the bedroom if I need it.

Also I found early on when I got mild SPD that walking through water at the swimming pool helped it a lot. Might be worth a shot?

I have been 'pool walking'. Grin

I think I may end up having to sleep in a chair at this point. I need this baby to just come!

Oh you poor thing! I'm sure you've tried all the pillows, braces etc but just wanted to send you some sympathy. If it's any comfort my SPD pretty much vanished as soon as DS2 dropped into my pelvis during labour and the very next day I was able to walk fairly normally for the first time in months.

Have you had any physio? Might not be too late for an emergency appointment? Mine was v helpful for releasing trapped nerves.

Wishing you a nice fast recovery Brew

DH came up with a plan. I am wearing my support belt loosely in bed and then tightening it up to get up. Things are better.

I was so low and tearful yesterday. Thank you for your messages.
