Sneezing!

Hey everyone,

Since I fell pregnant (I'm 14 weeks tomorrow) I've found that whenever I sneeze it really hurts, like at the sides close to my pubic bone. Really odd, not worried by it but it does sometimes cause embarrassment because it hurts a lot especially if I walk and sneeze I kind of have to clutch my tummy.

Anyone else get this or is it just of my own weird pregnancy symptoms?!

xx

Yes! I've had that since the beginning (now 39 weeks) and because I tend to sneeze a fair amount it's been really uncomfortable. I remember it being worse at the beginning of the pregnancy and I used to have to curl into a ball almost to sneeze! Now I just hold the bump! Apparently it's worse if you have good stomach muscles. Very normal though.

Bend your legs, it helps!

I vomit when I sneeze. Can't wait to enjoy a good sneeze again!

ah that's good to hear it's not just me then! Curling into a ball sounds good, apart from if I'm out in public/in the office?! I can't curl into a ball there?! Would get some v.strange looks!! Just have to try and grin and bear it, though so painful at times x

I'm the same as you, have to hold my tummy and cross my legs whenever I sneeze too! Wonder if this is the way it'll be for the next few months? Or does it get easier? Kinda dreading all the winter colds...

I sneeze everyday, multiple times a day, and occassionally it does hurt but only if I'm standing up. Stupid ligaments. I try to hold my tummy if I'm standing up and need to sneeze now.

I get this as well. Makes me feel bad for the baby! I always worry its a bit violent for it!!

Loveallmyboys · 12/08/2014 23:13

It does ease off eventually. The air would be blue if I sneezed! It's ligaments stretching or something like that. Assume the fetal position pre-sneeze. Worked for me! The funny looks were hilarious too!

I was on the tube this morning and sneezed..Oh my word it hurt! I was stood in in the middle by the seats waiting for one to become free so had someone sat right in front of me. I couldn't hold my tummy or fold myself into a ball! So I kind of had to make a strange face, crossed my legs like I was busting for the loo and hoped no one saw me - eeek!!
