I feel your pain! Tonight is the first time in 2 months where I can go into the kitchen without heaving! Although on the plus side dp has been forced to cook dinner every night and do the washing up! Can't open the fridge of the dishwasher without feel ill! I am going to resort to having a plug in air freshner in every room!!

My sense of smell is so acute at the moment and its unbearable. I don't like anyone too close to me as I can smell them and it makes me feel sick. I cant bear DH after work, even worse as he cycles so hes all sweaty and stinking. I could smell him for about 5 minutes after he left the room earlier on and it didn't make for a very pleasant smell either!

DP is the same as he walks up a massive hill home. I feel bad because he is being so lovely and helpful but Im wishing we had separate beds! Im only 7 weeks, hoping i get a normal nose and stomach back soon

It gets better, but I'm still hypersensitive to smells at 34 weeks. And it didn't really go after my last pregnancy, just got a bit better. Sorry.

Hypernosmia makes it sound fancy though.

LIG1979 · 13/08/2014 06:44

When I was pregnant I had an employee who smelled. never noticed it before being pregnant but during the 1st few weeks I hated her coming to talk to me.

Luckily she is no longer working for me now I am pg with hopefully no2. It is very early days but so far none of my team make me feel sick!

Roonerspism · 13/08/2014 06:46

People smell revolting. Washing powder on their clothes - heave. Fridges - heave. Febreeze is the devil's air freshener.

kkllww · 13/08/2014 08:54

Same here! When i go to pick up son from nursery, the smell of the nursery on him makes me feel sick. Same with husband when he tries to cuddle up to me in bed - his smell repells me. DH is getting really impatient with my constant complaints about smells!

We live in a flat and if I have to take the bin down to the store I freak. I cant even walk past it without heaving. If I go in there I am gagging until I leave and then if I think about it I gag too!

So glad im not the only one, but sorry you are all feeling sick too Thanks

Urgh me too. 11 weeks and sniffing and heaving all day long. Bleugh.

mum2fourds · 16/08/2014 08:57

Oh my god i can so identify with this! My Dh seems to have a particular smell (while always clean as a whistle) that i cannot identify but which i find completely repulsive and i can smell everywhere....as for anything chemical like air fresheners, deodorants, detergent etc...makes me want to hurl/kill all at once and even on the street and in shops its like i have bionic olafactory powers where b.o. is magnified into 50individual components which sadly i m sure i could identify if pushed....but its all making me crazy....this is my fifth child and i have never experienced it before....
