Congratulations. You sound stunned - it's a lot to take in if you thought you'd never conceive naturally. Take you time, take asleep breath and perhaps get some folic acid. You weren't to know, so put the alcohol to the back of your mind.

When are you telling your DP?

Might take another test - am in shock... It took a long time to conceive previously. I have really been struggling with ds recently and defo decided just one but now I no why its been so hard... Its only been a bit of alcohol - one\two magners in a week....

How far along are you? What made you test?

My two DCs were IVF babies, I'm late 30's too and DH doesn't want more (me, I would love another, but not so as I'd do IVF again). So, while I have never conceived naturally, I can sort of understand the shock you must be feeling.

Did you do another test?

moggle · 11/08/2014 11:34

Oh I wouldn't worry about the alcohol at that level, I am drinking about that much some weeks and am 26 weeks today.
Start the folic acid today if you can and then try and put that worry out of your mind too.

I can imagine how much of a shock it is though! I was reading in the Mail today about the lady who found out 8 weeks after giving birth to her little boy (conceived after fertility problems) that she was pregnant with triplets :-D

Congratulations!!!

Don't beat yourself up about the magners, you aren't to know!

Have a seat, grab a coffee & think about your plans. Decide how to tell DH & what things need to happen.

Find solutions to any issues you might have so when you tell hi you have ideas for going forward.

I really want to say WELL DONE!!!! You did it!!!!!
Congratulations xxxx

Enough people manage with 2 that they go on to have 3 or more! Congratulations, it'll all be fine!
