Has midwife refered you for a growth scan?

Well, I wouldn't panic as the tape measurement is completely dependent on who does it. Have several different measurements put you that far over, or just one? It's an indication, rather than an absolute measure.

Having said that, I measured 3-5cm over my whole pregnancy with DC2. No gestational diabetes or other issues. He was 10lb Shock Popped out though Grin

Don't panic, I measured full term at 30 weeks with DC3, I was carrying excess fluid as well as him being biggish 9lb at 38 weeks. Birth was easy though.

If you are still measuring that big in a few weeks you will be referred for another scan to see how big baby is, but just because the bumps big doesn't always mean a big baby. You could have a lot of water or the baby could have been in a funny position. Try not to worry

I think the measurements are unreliable. I've measured big when I've felt the baby has been awkwardly positioned and by one midwife who another midwife said often measures big.
