Can I have painted nails when I have a c section? I really want a lil manicure pedicure but can I have it dun, I'm 37 weeks and having a c section in 10 days but dnt want to pay a fortune for them to tell me to take it off

I seem to remember being told no painted nails for mine. It's so they can assess skin tone - if there's a problem, the extremities usually show signs first. I'd treat yourself to one once you have your baby!

I was allowed to keep my clear nail varnish on, but anything other than clear had to be removed - they need to be able to see the colour of your fingers and toes in case of problems.

You need to have a sats prob on finger which reads your pulse and oxygen levels in your blood, if you have painted nails the reading is inaccurate and if they can't work on fingers they do use toes

Thankyou I thoght it might be true but I had a emcs 3 years ago but I can't remember! O well blue polka dots nails after dd arrives then
