Private scan 13weeks

Just wondered if anyone had a private scan around 13 weeks . I had a little bleed at 8 weeks and had a NHS scan and they wouldn't give me a dating scan because they cause do it when checking all okay. I had a MMC in march so booked a private scan called 'quickassurance' just wondered if anyone's had similar experience. Will they check my dating? Any opinions welcome :) x

I had 1 today they checked the measurements gave approx size 10+1 (scans can be out a few days each way). They checked the heartbeat and that the sac and placenta all looked ok. If you're 13 wks how come you've not had or got an appointment for dating scan already?

I'm 10 week now and I received a dating scan in the post and then got another letter saying it was cancelled when I asked why they said because I had a scan at 8 weeks to check baby was okay and the midwife had put down my measurements then x

Are you sure you aren't getting a 12 week scan? I'd be very surprised if you didn't. I didn't get the letter until 4 days before mine, if I were you I'd ring the maternity unit at your hospital and speak to the midwifes. I did and they confirmed when my scan was, as it was when the post came 30 mins later there was the letter.

Lol yes. Apparently because the 12 week scan is only for dating that was already completed at the check up I had at 8 weeks. Because I had the MMC in march I need the scan around that period for reassurance x

What about the nuchal testing were you not offered this as it can only be done between 12- 13w6?

Yes but because I had already opted out I wouldn't need the scan at that point :(

Just tell them you have you changed your mind about nuchal testing and want a 12 week scan.

I thought that but I Wud feel a bit bad wasting money having the test when I don't really want to know the answer if makes sense x

Strange that you don't get your 12 week scan because you had one at 8 weeks. What about the nuchal measurements? My days were out and at my "12" week scan was found to be less than 10 weeks. She said it was too early to measure and do nuchal so I'm going back next week when I will be 12.

I would def get the private scan. I have had a few private scans for reassurance- the Nhs don t give you enough. Ask them to check the dating when you go.

I had a scan for bleeding at 11 weeks and they weren't going to rescan me at 12 weeks but they did because of the NT test. I was bang on dates anyway at both scans - no change between them at all so I guess that's why they don't scan you twice. I can understand why you'd want a bit of reassurance though - even though I had a week between them, I was still terrified something would have gone wrong in the week between. Good luck.
