Hi ladies! My GP prescribed me Omeprazole 20 mg on capsule a day. I started to take them week and a half ago. At last I feel myself human again. I don't have painful heartburns 24h a day, stopped vomiting and can eat food.I got awful nausea and was vomiting couple of times a day till 6 month of pregnancy, than my lovely heartburns started, which made everything much worse than it was before. In my first pregnancy cold milk helped a lot and generally after 6.5 month of morning sickness I enjoyed rest of my pregnancy. This time around milk made me even sicker and Gaviscon helped only for two weeks. Now I am 32 weeks pregnant and Omeprazole is helping a lot and I don't feel myself so miserable, can do more and enjoy every day but I feel so guilty that I am taking medicine and wanted to ask to those who take Omeprazole too,is it safe for my unborn baby or there are any risks? Thank you in advance!

I'm not pregnant but I do take it.

It does say on the leaflet that it's safe for pregnancy and beastfeeding so you shouldn't feel guilty.

IMO if it's letting you feel better, be more active and eat better then it will be doing the baby good too.

I was prescribed this medicine last week, the dr checked in his book and said it was licensed and safe for pregnant people. It's a lifesaver for me! Don't feel guilty!
