Did you have sweeps?
How many?
Did they work?

Worth having them done or wait to see if anything happens naturally, then if not be induced?

I had one, it did absolutely nothing. I think they only really have an effect if you are in the v early stage of labour. eg if your baby is engaged and your cervix has begun to shorten.

Last midwife appointment I was 3/5ths engaged, will find out tomorrow if I'm anymore engaged. Reckon it's worth having them then?
No idea about my cervix!

I hadn't either so I wa surprised! I will always wonder if I was 'on the edge' and it just started things off a little quicker but whatever, it worked and I was glad! Grin

I had one. I don't really know if it worked or not - no contractions but I lost my plug the next morning.

As far as I'm concerned they aren't particularly risky or painful (they're uncomfortable, but not painful) so it's worth a shot, it does work sometimes otherwise they wouldn't waste the time sending midwives out to do it.
