Sweeps.

Did you have sweeps?
How many?
Did they work?

Worth having them done or wait to see if anything happens naturally, then if not be induced?

I had one, it did absolutely nothing. I think they only really have an effect if you are in the v early stage of labour. eg if your baby is engaged and your cervix has begun to shorten.

Last midwife appointment I was 3/5ths engaged, will find out tomorrow if I'm anymore engaged. Reckon it's worth having them then?

Yep. Had 1. Contractions started on way home.

I've not read of many success stories ginger so that's good to hear!

I hadn't either so I wa surprised! I will always wonder if I was 'on the edge' and it just started things off a little quicker but whatever, it worked and I was glad!

I had one. I don't really know if it worked or not - no contractions but I lost my plug the next morning.

As far as I'm concerned they aren't particularly risky or painful (they're uncomfortable, but not painful) so it's worth a shot, it does work sometimes otherwise they wouldn't waste the time sending midwives out to do it.
