Can you feel engaging?

Leaning forward on the sofa tonight I felt a painful sharp clunking or popping (v hard to explain!) pain low and central in my pelvis. Now all evening I've been getting shooting pains down there that feel like they are right in my vagina. Especially when I'm standing or walking. Do you think it was baby's head in my Pelvis and that he's engaged? First time I've felt anything like that at 37+3.

Sounds like head engaging to me. Were you 'free' at your last check? mine all tended to engaged gradually going from 4/5ths palpable to 3/5ths palpable and onward about three or four days apart.

At my last check I was told he was 'thinking about' engaging when I asked, my midwife seems to like vague and non medical statements :) I assumed she meant his head was very close to my pelvis! I have my 38 week appt on Wednesday so I hope he'll be a bit further down. No reflux last night so that might be another sign! I know he could engaged and sit there for a few weeks, but at this stage any change is welcome and entertains me for a few days at least!

Redling, that's what my midwife said too - they're obviously telepathic!

I have had awful stabbing pains in my nether regions. I was brim and free. The pains then started and my midwife said they were head fitting pains - next check up I was 3/5 engaged. Had more severe ones this week so hoping I'm even more engaged at my check tonight.

Your charts must be different to mine, I'm in Scotland so we have like a table for fundal height, fifths palpable, BP, urine analysis etc that get filled in at every appointment so we can keep track.

My midwifes are so laid back, they just say 'he's the right size', 'he's lying down here' etc, it's been very non medical! Which is ok as I'm fine and he's fine and I feel very chilled just knowing he's ok without being obsessed with percentiles etc. If I had any health worries or if I were just a more worried kind of person due to previous issues or health anxiety I'm sure I'd find it maddening!
My bump has changed shape, it's kind of lower and pointier at the front, and I am still getting the stabby pains so I think we definitely have a change going on!

Last Tuesday midwife told me I was 3/5s engaged but I hadn't felt it at all.
Tomorrow I'll find out if baby is anymore engaged but again haven't felt anything.
