hi folks.

At last app with mw at 23 weeks, they said i measured as 28 weeks.
Today at 27 week appt - i am measuring almost 32 weeks.

MW says she is starting to get concerned but as growth scan booked in for 30 weeks, but just wait until then to see what is going on.

i know they can have different growth spurts etc in utero and also know that I am unlikely to have diabetes ( used diabetic friends testing kit a few times and sugars around 4.5 fasting)

any of you have experience of measuring ahead and what happened with yr pg??

I had a lot of waters with my first pregnancy. It was on the upper limit of normal on a scan at 32wks and when my waters broke (during midwife check at 5cm) it was like Niagara falls!

If you have very high waters then they may want to monitor you in hospital before due date as there is a risk when waters go some cord will prolapse with the whoosh. Which having experienced my waters going seems totally plausible to me.

thanks milkjet - i guess the scan will pick this up. I am booked for homebirth so fingers crossed it all settles in next few weeks.

Were these scans or just tape measured? If they are worried, they'll scan you. It's quite inexact and the tape measure measurements can vary as baby moves, fluid quantity varies etc.

Weeonion when I was diagnosed with GD my fasting was lower than yours it was my reading after the sugary drink that told them I had it. Have you used your friends machine after a meal? I would ask for a GTT just to check and be sure

Squitz - tape measured but have growth scan already booked in another 3 weeks.

Gunwalloe - it was fasting. At me appt yesterday- they took bloods for tests. One of which was for diabetes but it wasn't the big test everyone talks about.

I was measuring like this with dc3, with extra fluid too. They tested me twice for diabetes. Turns out he was just a huge baby on the 99th centile, he is now 7 months old (6 months corrected) and is almost in 12-18 month clothing. He was born early (not due to size) at 34 weeks and was 7.5lb. He would have been about 10.5lb at birth if I had gone full term!
