I went for a checkup with my consultant yesterday and when I got home and looked at my notes my weight has stayed the same since 15 wks (now 19 and gained 200g). Should I be worried? I had a BMI of just under 24 at my booking appointment so should be gaining 1lb per week. Google has scared the living day lights out of me!

Hi. I'm 23 weeks, BMI was 25 and have only gained 7llbs, 2 of them since week 17. I didn't have awful MS - i ate more than usual to keep it at bay so I was a bit worried at lack of weight gain. I didn't really show until after 20 weeks but I had a bit of a belly anyway. At 20 week scan baby was on 50th centile for all measurements and bump is growing slowly by my measurements but sticking out more in front than my measurements round would indicate IYSWIM. I'm getting movement now as well which is reassuring. Think it just depends on your body. No other medical issues here so No extra appointments. I'd wait and see what your scan says - baby will take what it needs! What did your consultant say? If you're worried ask yr midwife.

My friend only gained 1/2 stone entire pregnancy - as long as baby is growing fine it will be ok x

Thanks. My consultant didn't say anything but the mw weighed me so I don't know if he even looked at that bit of my notes. I'm definitely showing and getting bigger. I did put on a couple of pounds in the first trimester, mainly due to all the crisps I kept myself from being sick with. I've got my scan on Monday, which is really worrying me too.

I'm back at the clinic to see my consultant in 3wks if all goes well on Monday but don't see my mw until September now.
