Now had 3 separate evnts of snot like mucus when I've wiped (today, yesterday and Tuesday) Have had quite sharp stabbing pains down below along with some very mild period and back pains. I have had ever increasing BH's which seem to last for agggggges when I get them and are now starting to coincide with stabbing pains in my bum/private area.

JMy midwife said it sounds like things are starting to happen (I am 37+4 today) and to keep an eye on losses, for further signs of labour and also baby's movements.

How do I recognise whether it really is early labour, or established and how do I tell the difference between BH and the real thing? Dont want to ring the birth centre unnecessarily.

When is your next mw appointment? If I were you I would go for a nice long walk, then a bath, then a snooze. see how things progress. It could well be early labour but you could always phone your mw just to have a chat about it?

Real labour won't go away. The pains will get closer together and stronger.
