Can I test positive two weeks after conceiving????!

I'm actually in shock, had sex on the 27th August with DH and took pregnancy test yesterday and it said positive but isn't this too soon to have been conceived therefore on the 27th August? We didn't do it until about 8 weeks before that and so thats a scarier thought as i'd be nearly 3 months pregnant but that can't be right either as i've had periods since then which brings me back to the conception date being the 27th but i didn't think pregnancy tests worked until about 4 weeks afterwards?? Help! VERY excited though as definitely pregnant with my second as i've done 6 pregnancy tests and they are all positive!!!

You can easily test +ve 2 weeks after conceiving. Tests these days are much much much much much more sensitive than they used to be. Congratulations!!!

Nope definitely possible, mine with dd went positive 11 days after the 'deed'!!

Are you confusing the 4 week thing with the dating of the pg? You are technically 4 weeks pg now because it is dated from the first day of your last cycle, ie the day your last period started. That's the date the mw's will ask you for to predict your due date.

i got a faint positive 9 days after conception, so yes. congratulations.

hun I BD two weeks this coming sat and found out this morning I'm pregnant so yes

OH MY GOD - that is so damn effective!! My last period was on the 28th july so that means i conceived 4 weeks AFTER my last period (27th August)- i either have a really long cycle or something is odd!! SO pleased to be pregnant and i guess once i have my scan everything will be found out!!

The doctor this morning said he doubts it was on the 27th as it was so recent but i can't be pregnant from the time before that as it was so long ago i'd be feeling things by now and i don't - what do doctors know eh??!

i tested positive exactly 14 days after conceiving, so yes you can! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
