Do I need to worry about chickenpox?

In work yesterday, a guy has come back from 3 weeks off sick for chickenpox as apparently he had a bad case of it (he is from a country where it is less common as a childhood illness). He was talking to me and said that several other guys on our (large) floor (who sit near me) had kids who had it recently, and he wondered if he maybe caught it from work as his own kids did not have it so he reckoned it was here or the gym.

I had a very mild case of CP when I was about 10, you would barely have known I had it. So according to the NHS website I am immune- will this protect my unborn child also or do I need to be concerned about being in an environment where CP is 'doing the rounds'?
I'm not in particularly close contact with the people affected, and I know it doesn't spread as easily as something like the flu.

Hi pepper I asked my midwife the same thing as my nephew has cp. She said it's absolutely fine if you have already had them and it's nothing to worry about. I hope this puts your mind at rest x

Thanks Jodie, that's what I thought it said on the NHS website, but it was quite wordy so wasn't 100% sure

We had an out break at work & although I've had it my Midwife sent me for an immunity test just to be sure, I was immune and all is fine. Its perhaps worth balling your midwife as usually they can test for it.
Not trying to worry you, just offering another option. (DD has had it in the last 4 years and I didn't catch it so was pretty sure I was immune but still worth checking)

When DD had chickenpox the NHS website and my MW confirmed that, as I had had it myself as a child, I would almost certainly be ok. The MW did say that I could get the GP to do a blood test to confirm whether I was immune if I wanted.
