The nursery... Single bed a good idea?

We're thinking about squeezing a single bed into our nursery for the nights when DP is desperate for sleep and the baby can't. The idea being that either me and the baby or DP will go in there.

Did you do this? Did it work as planned?

I expect dad to co-sleep with baby when he's not working, but I don't think there's any point in us both being sleep deprived all the time. At least one of us should be well slept, and I think that should be him when he is working, so he can take over when he gets back from work and I can rest then.
