For the life of me I can't remeber when they started with the Ds's but I'm 23 weeks now and I started getting them a week or so ago.

Not very often admittedly but I'm definatley getting them.

Thanks

24 weeks with ds
18 weeks with dd

ProfYaffle · 12/09/2006 17:22

Xmas 2003 which would make it about 6 months.

belgo · 12/09/2006 17:24

from about 12 weeks. I was told that this was because I was dehydrated due to morning sickness. My baby was due one day overtime, so presumably had no significance to labour.

Quootiepie · 12/09/2006 17:26

from about 36 weeks... but then I am odd!

julezboo · 12/09/2006 18:08

they started quite early with my ds, aournd 18 weeks but i had a major op to remove a cyst at 16 weeks and thats why they said, however this time Ive felt a few tightenings, not painful and only last a second or two, pretty scarey as Im only 17 weeks and I thought this was rather early as Ive had no ops this time!

Kidstrack · 12/09/2006 18:15

36weeks both pregnancies

motherinferior · 12/09/2006 18:17

oh, about four or five months in with DD1. And they hurt like hell.

kdinas · 12/09/2006 19:27

ds1, don't remember having them
ds2 26 weeks
ds3 20 weeks
ds4 16 weeks, am now 31 weeks and have been paranoid of going into premature labour more than a couple of times!

LadyTophamHatt · 12/09/2006 19:49

Oh kdinas, I'm PG with a DS4 too

I've been getting them almost everyday(only really once aday though...or never notice them more ofted anyway) and I was surprised that they were so strong at this stage but it seems that alot of you have had them like this at this stage too.

Weird because I don't remeber them at all^ with Ds3.

I don't think I had them at all with ds, but this time around they started about 22 or 23 weeks.

TooTicky · 12/09/2006 19:55

Earlier with each baby.

Daisypops · 12/09/2006 20:11

Sounds a daft questions but where exactly do you get the pains with braxton hicks. I keep getting pains on my left hand side quite low down could this be BH or something else. Im 22+5 pregnant!

Toady · 12/09/2006 21:07

for me braxton hicks were more like tightenings across my bump, how often do you get these pains?

mazzystar · 12/09/2006 21:09

I'm glad you started this thread. I think I'm getting them, have been noticing distinct tightenings across my bump, I'm only @ 20 weeks.

sweetkitty · 12/09/2006 21:11

DD1 never had so much as a twinge until my waters broke at 37+5

DD2 from about 30 weeks

Daisypops · 12/09/2006 21:19

Toady, it seems to be when I move, its quite low down on the left, about 2 and a half inches above where your pubes stop (sorry!). Its not a bad pain or cramp more like trapped wind but its not trapped IYKWIM Bub seems to be moving quite a bit tonight, don't know if this is anything to do with it?

Toady · 12/09/2006 21:25

Hi, does not sound like braxton hicks but does not sound like anything to worry about. I had a pain in my left side where you described. I just put it down to the aches and pains of pregnancies. If you are worried mention it to your midwife.

Daisypops · 12/09/2006 21:29

I have any appointment with my MW tomorrow so might just mention it. With all the pregnancy aches, pains and twinges its hard to know whats to worry about and what isn't. Thanks. x

carrotcake · 12/09/2006 21:42

Yes, agree with that, low one sided pain sounds more like round ligament pain, all the stretching around the uterus for it to grow. Always worth asking about it though. I get those a lot, and sharp pains when I walk fast. I'm about 23 weeks now and have noticed braxton hicks for a few weeks, but they're more of a painless tightening that leaves me with a breathless feeling. I don't know if it's the same for everyone, but they do seem to have started earlier this time.

Elibean · 12/09/2006 22:41

Daisypops, I had the same thing today - felt almost like wind/spasm, but wasn't. Low down, on the left - am sure its ligament throbbing, remember it from last time with dd too (do check with MW though!).

Only had mild BXs at the end with dd, and none so far at 27+4 with this one...

Sakura · 13/09/2006 00:08

From 36 weeks or thereabouts. This is my first though. Now Im just past 38 weeks, and they are becoming more frequent and more painful. In my case usually only at night, when Im trying to sleep.

Sakura · 13/09/2006 00:11

IVe also had the pain in the left side. Ive made the connection that I get it around the time my bump has a growth spurt. As it is my first, it makes sense that the muscles will hurt each time they have to stretch.
