Hello.

I'm new to this, but wondered if anyone can help. I'm 6 weeks pregnant but just found out that taking a multivitamins which contain vitamin can be harmful to the baby. I have been taking multivitamins which contain 800pg RE of vitamin A, could this seriously harmful? I'm due to see the GP Tuesday. Thanks x

Probably best to stop taking them and either switch to pregnancy vitamins or just folic acid. Also avoid eating liver or other things that are high in Vit A.

I'd stop taking the multi vits, and if you want to continue with a supplement, get a pregnancy suitable one.

They will still have vit A in, but in the alternative form. The cheaper one isn't brilliance for baby - but then baby has only been implanted for 2 weeks, so actually will have had very little exposure.
