I'm just wondering if anyone knows where I stand in terms of wearing my work uniform. My uniform consists of black trousers and a pretty thick dark green polo shirt and having seen my local forecast of temperatures possibly hitting 30 on Thursday/Friday I am quite concerned about how I am going to cope. I am 33 weeks pregnant and am seriously struggling with being too hot coupled with other pregnancy issues/complaints. Does anyone know of I'm entitled to wear a suitable alternative or if I'm just going to have to hope my manager takes pity on me?!

TIA xxx

I don't think black trousers and a polo shirt is an unreasonable uniform....surely all the other staff non pregnant staff are uncomfortable too?

I've been wearing black trousers to work everyday too.

I think the only way to get round it would be to speak to your manager and hope they are sympathetic. Ask for a fan amd access to drinking water? Or get a note from your doc saying you are only fit to work in a cooler uniform Hmm .

I think the issue is how thick my uniform is and my job requires me to spend a long period of time outside and even when inside I am in direct sunlight and am unable to just leave in order to cool down due to ratio issues.

Sorry if you think I am being unreasonable but I am simply asking for some advice as to my rights.
