Hi girls, i had a natural misc on 25th june at 7weeks, started ttc as soon as bleeding stopped, after one week. Have no idea where i am on my cycle, had a regular 26day cycle prior to misc. Last week had a very sharp stabbing pain on left side that lasted all morning, now wondering could it have been implantation pain. Feeling emotional and weepy, sore boobs and am constipated, which i usually get in pregnancy, increase in cm last 2 weeks. Dont know when i should test, any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading x

Not sure if I can help as such but just wanted to say I was in a similar position, had a mc in November at 6 wks, bleeding lasted about 4 days and we made the decision to keep trying. I was using the ovulation testing sticks anyway so I used the m/c as my last period and started testing using the sticks again (also had a 26 day cycle). I ovulated exactly 2 wks after the m/c and bam, fell pregnant again:-) Cos I ovulated normally I just tested again when my period was due 12 weeks later and was positive. I'm now 35 wks pregnant:-) The pain you're having could be you ovulating? Or I would leave it a week and test (ie 26 days after your m/c).

Sorry 12 weeks should be 12 days.....

Sorry about your mc. I had a mc at about 8 weeks in March last year. We decided to start trying again as soon as I got a BFN (I kept testing so I would know a BFP wasn't still hormones from the mc). I got my BFP less than 3 weeks later- I must have ovulated atraight away following the mc. I'm now sitting looking at our beautiful 7 month baby.

I would test now, but if it is negqtive test in a few weeks. Good luck

Did you test to ensure your hormones had gone down? Unfortunately Drs always forget to advise this, and it's important because of things like this (and retained blood/hormones carry an infection risk).

I would take a test, only way to know and needs to be done anyway a few weeks after stopping bleeding. Then if it is positive, go to your Dr and explain if you didn't test after the MC, but need to be sure it is a new pregnancy not retained blood/tissue. S/he can book you in for an early (5 or 6 week) scan where they will be able to see (hopefully) a new pregnancy sac and confirm the situation.

I miscarried in May (at 9 weeks). I'd had negative pregnancy tests by 3-4 weeks afterwards. So when I had a posutive I was tentatively sure it was right (9 weeks now. Nervous as hell).

I got a posituve very early on i suspect. But I ovulated bang on usual really as far as I xan work out. So it is possible.
the sooner you know the sooner you can draw on tge gp/ epau for advice as it is nervewracking.
I chose to have a private dating scan to confurm dates (when i thought i was 8 weeks). BUT you might be lucky and have an area where gp will refer you for dating scan.

Best wishes x

Thanks for the replies girls and congrats to all who got BFPs. I did a test when bleeding stopped and it was negative so will maybe test again on day 26!! Fingers crossed x

Hi Lola
Sorry to hear about your mc. I don't want to write too much about my experience as it is awful but basically I've had pregnancy symptoms shortly after m.c at the end of May. We too wanted to start straight away. Started getting pregnancy symptoms and friend told me to POAS. I tested positive 6 weeks after m/c. (I am no longer pregnant again though - horrific experience).

Your betaHCG levels (your pregnancy hormone which is tested for presence with home pregnancy tests) can still be in your system for good couple of weeks after m/c, making you feel "pregnant" even if you no longer are.

If you tested negative though then it might mean your HCG levels have now gone down to zero and that you're not pregnant (remember that home pregnancy tests are designed to catch even the very small amount of pregnancy hormone - even level such as 15, considering that in early pregnancy they can grow to 6000-8000 by week 5 of pregnancy).

It is very hard to know what day of the cycle you are on after m/c without getting period first, but as you had a mc on 25th June you couldn't be more than couple of weeks pregnant (if test was positive, that is). But I'd say if you're still getting early pregnancy symptoms, go ahead and test but maybe in second week of August. If you have a positive test then I'd refer myself to EPU explaining the situation (or GP should refer you) and ask for blood tests as then they will know exactly what's going on. They should test you again after 48 hours to check HCG are growing (they usually should double, depending on which week of pregnancy you're in).

Hope this helps and good luck!
