Hello all, this is my first request for a bit of advice. I am 42, so am having to have an Amnio, I am also on Dalteparin and at 12 weeks adding aspirin to that. Would it be okay to take these when I have the amnio? I am also quite concerned about taking 2 blood thinners at the same time. This will be my 3rd child, quite a shook because hubby was snipped. I have all these things going on in my head, so being 42, over weight and pregnant not good. I am only 11 weeks now. Some advice would be greatly appreciated, quite worried about the amnio!

Hi I amd also 42 and had the CVS at 14 weeks, I was on 150mg aspirin and they said that was fine, although they had to double check. I don't anything about the Dalteparin. Can you ring the hospital to ask?

You might need to skip one dose of dalteparin the evening before the amnio. Ring them and check.

You don't have to have an amnio just because you are 42, where I work we have plenty of mothers late 30's and 40's ad we certainly don't advise amnio for them based in age alone. Are you not having the screening first as amnio can only be done from 15 weeks so plenty if time to have screening done or is harmony of nifty an option of you are worried about amnio.

Thank you all, I will have a chat with the hospital (when I can get through). The midwife at the hospital told me to do the screening first to check.
