I need some advice. Me and DH had unprotected sex leading up too and on the day i ovulated. I am now 16dpo and 2 days late for af but still getting negative results. I have been nauseated, matallic taste in my mouth, head aches, dull achy uterus and heart burn like you wouldnt believe. I have also been waking at 4:30 am on the dot with lower back pain, broke down crying at work because a blowdry didnt turn out as well as i expected (im a hairdresser) and i just FEEL pregnant though this would be my first.. is there something else this could be other then pregnancy? Help! ):

Might not be what you want to hear but when I was trying for first I always got loads of symptoms but not bfp. First month I got no symptoms I got my bfp! Go figure!!! Happened again this time too.
Hope it's different for you and you're just a late bfp er

Similar story to Jenninlw, I tried to avoid symptom spotting but the week before I got my BFP I actually convinced myself there was no way I was pregnant as I felt great.

How do you know when you ovulated? OPKs can be tricky to read sometimes so you might be a day or two out. Also the embryo can float around for several days before implanting, so although you should be 16dpo, you might actually have readings that are more like 10-11dpo, which would be too early to test accurately.

To get a positive test you have to have enough HCG in your blood that some is getting filtered out in to your wee, so it can also be affected by things like kidney function, hydration levels and blood supply to various body parts. You do get some ladies on here saying they didn't test positive until several weeks in as for some reason the HCG wasn't getting in to their wee.

Finally you might be pregnant but about to miscarry. Before this pregnancy I was late, had some symptoms, did two tests and only one was positive. I lost the pregnancy a couple of days later. (If we hadn't been TTC I probably wouldn't even have noticed as it was only marginally heavier than a normal period).

I think your best course of action is to try to relax and forget about it for a couple of days, then test again. If you get to over a week late without a positive test then see your GP for a blood test as these are more sensitive.
