Hello,
I'm 10+2 and get stabbing pains in my lower stomach but only when I move from lying down to sitting or standing, and when I cough or sneeze. Is this normal?
Thanks R

Sounds to me like round ligament pain. Also stretching pain..

If this is your first then totally normal but of you are concerned call your midwife..

I had it really extreme once I was 17/18 weeks pregnant with my first. I couldn't walk, get dressed or turn from one side to the other..

I am 11+8 and have been experiencing the same for some weeks. Apparently totally normal. It is worse if I am lying on my back and laugh - OH has strict instructions not to make me laugh at the moment. Yesterday I laughed and got a really sharp pain that took my breath away - really annoying that OH doesn't seem to appreciate how painful it can be! Mine seems to be worse when stretched out. I find that lying slightly curled on my side helps.

Thanks for replying. :) Did it go away eventually or have I to endure this for the next 6&1/2 months? Cheers. R

I'm 30weeks now, and throughout this pregnancy I've sometimes got sharp stitch like pains, especially on walking fast, moving suddenly, or coughing/sneezing. I think it is everything stretching. I got them mostly in the weeks 16-24, and probably only once or twice a week, maybe a few times at most, tended to last a maximum of 15 mins but usually only a few mins, but still occasionally get them.
