I'm just short of 8 weeks pregnant, sick as a dog and gaining weight as fast as I can bear Sad

Thing is, I'm not eating! I'm that nauseus, day in day out all I'm managing is a Pot Noodle and some fruit, all day, maybe a panini for breakfast too Sad

With my boys, yes, I gained weight pretty fast with them too, but as I was pretty much a size 10 I didn't look too ugly Sad but I was a 14, trying to lose weight when I got pregnant this time (unplanned).

Is it normal to be this huge already? It's mainly my stomach, seems to have blown up massively, I'm constantly bloated Sad

I know in the grand scheme of things, I shouldn't moan but I feel really down about it and worrying that I've started to put it on too quick Sad

I suffered bloating too in the first trimester...it goes down once the morning sickness settles as your system gets irritates by everything and reacts by bloating and hlding water (and gas)....It took me until 20-22 weeks to look that big again with ACTUAL baby!!

JustGot thanks for your reply Smile

I hope it is just this, I feel really ugly and nothing fits right Sad

I remember being huuuuge with my first but I literally ate everything in site, and it wasn't good stuff! x

Is it mainly gas and air? It might reduce when you get to 2nd trimester?

It happened to me - loads of deflatine and I was still a human balloon during the morning sickness phase, then I kind of deflated, then a proper bump appeared.

They always say that during your 1st trimester your bump isn't really a bump but a bloated stomach. Have you tried sea sickness bands for the nausea, they used work a treat for me. Would you be able to stomach smoothies? I found it easier to drink than to eat when I felt like that. Hope you feel better soon!

I know how you feel, I've got a definite little bump but by the end of the day I'm so bloated it's unbelievable, my normal trousers can't be done up! X

I bloated a lot in the first trimester. It's settled down now and at 19 weeks you can barely see anything first thing in the morning but it does get bigger throughout the day and it looks like a proper bump now.

I was the same. I am now 15+2 with DC2 and have a teeny bump (which gets bigger in the day), much smaller than the one I had at 7/8 weeks - which is when I started wearing maternity trousers!
