Hi
I have my 1st scan with all Down syndrome testing on Thursday. I feel really nervous, what if they don't find anything in there? Or there is something wrong. Anyone else felt like this before? X

I was visibly shocked apparently when the baby showed up on the monitor! I couldn't believe it was really there, is been so worried and almost talking myself out of being pregnant just in case there was a problem. Relax; there's a very very good chance you'll be fine.

I was convinced it was all fiction right up until I saw it on the screen! Didn't help I had had very few symptons at all so was even more convinced my body was lying to me!

It is normal to be worried about the test results as well so much rides on it.

SNAP! Had my scan last week at almost 14 weeks and there s/he was with a great performance for us. I said to the woman scanning me that I was sure she was going to laugh at me for making it up.

I had the DS test too, and good results which was a big relief. I have now moved on to worrying about the next thing - typical!

Even though I feel like crap, with all the morning symptoms etc and my belly feeling not very nice + a positive pregnancy test, I still can't believe it's real. We call it the "phantom baby" . I hope I'm not wasting anyone's time by there not being nothing in there. Worried about DS test but fingers crossed everything ok. I've read the testing is a lot different to when my sister had a baby 5 years ago. Any thoughts on that?

Yup - when we had DD I thought they might be showing us archive footage of someone else's baby. I am confident this time round that someone is going to say "what on Earth made you think you were pregnant?"

My DD is nearly 6 now. I don't think they did the DS blood test at that point (although it was a while ago) but I do remember I declined the test, however if it had just been a case of a scan and blood test I think I would have gone for it. I can say that the scan was much better quality this time round, so clear.
