Baby sleeping confusion

First baby is due in November, and I'm really confused about what I need to get for sleeping - would appreciate some advice!

We're going for a bednest or chicco next to me type thing to start with. So I need sheets to go on the mattress, but then what?

Do I use sheets/blankets or are sleeping bags/grobags suitable from birth? What does the baby wear insdie: a vest and then a sleep suit?

Sorry they're daft questions but there just seems to be so many options!

Or bsby was born last November and it was always in a vest, baby grow and sleeping bag ( we had 3). Now it's just wearing a baby grow.

Dd was december born.

Short sleeved bodysuit (vest)
Sleepsuit
Wrapped in a swaddle (gro swaddle or giant muslin)
Laid on a sheet in the moses basket

I found that the gro bags were a bit big for a newborn so used cellular blankets for the first couple of months. What you dress baby in depends on the temperature of the room. So if it's quite warm then a short sleeved vest will do but if it's a cold room then you might want a vest
and sleep suit.
I remember finding it really confusing at first too, you'll find your own way of doing things and what your baby prefers soon enough!

November - probably a vest and a sleepsuit. We did this until DS got a little bit bigger, and the Spring came (October baby).

We had a bed nest with a cellular blanket at first, and then a swaddlesuit, and then a gro-bag. Grobags and swaddle suits are ace because there's no worry about kicking blankets off, but really it's what you like.

Dc2 due sept and I've got a cellular blanket, vests and babygro's ready. Will just see how the temp feels at the time. Just make sure any blankets are securely tucked at the base of the bed. We also have gro bags from about 8lb I think? Says on them anyway. I'll use these as long as baby fits (just check it's head can't slip back through the neck of the bag).

At first I would use a giant muslin to swaddle with a cellular blanket over the top. When he/she is a few weeks old switch to a Grobag. Likely to need vest and sleep suit too.

I've bought a Chicco Bednest for my wee one due in 5 weeks. My top tip on bed sheets are M&Ps crib sheets (40 x 91 cm). I was struggling to find sheets to fit it and then noticed the crib was on display in M&P complete with bedding so got them to see what sheets they'd used on it. Oh and I've bought swaddle blankets to use initially and gro-bags for when he fits into them. Also have a few cellular blankets but don't imagine I'll need them in August.
