Anyone else fed up of being asked if there's 'any news'?

Just a rant really. Baby's EDD was 28 June and since then we've had calls, texts etc asking if there's any news of our baby. NO THERE ISN'T ANY NEWS - WE'D'VE LET YOU KNOW! Some people have text or called 4 or more times FFS! Mum's even been getting calls and texts too - as if we can forget to let people know. We have a list of people to let know after family and WILL DO SO ONCE WE HAVE THE BABY!

I remember this. Best response is 'yes, I have just pushed out a watermelon, I'd just forgot, whoops'

Well they are just letting you know they're excited for you really.. I'm sure you'd complain if you had the baby and no one had bothered to text to ask.

Iona1651 · 06/07/2014 19:04

I know people are just excited for news - but when the same ones ask 3 or 4 times when we've said 'we'll let you know' is just annoying. I know we shouldn't moan - we're fed up of waiting too - I think people forget that!

Yes! My Mum is the worst for it. She rings 5 or 6 times a chuffing day...give me a break!

We've told weary one that dc2 is due later than it's actual due date in the hope they'll leave us alone. My dsis and mil phoned every day with ds and they only live down the road!!

Lucky29 · 06/07/2014 19:34

I remember that frustration well, started when I was about 39 weeks and carried on till I had DD at 40+13! In the end I stopped replying and let DH deal with it. It is so annoying but will be over soon Flowers

LittlePink · 06/07/2014 20:08

I remember this well. It was soooo annoying, I could have screamed. Especially as I was 14 days over so I had about a month of it. I remained polite but I was on the verge a few times of not being! If theres any news I will tell you! I never bug my friends towards the end because I know how irritating it is and I purposefully don't ask. I just send a text every few days saying thinking of you. If you need anything you know where I am. That's all it needs!

LittlePink · 06/07/2014 20:10

One girl from work text me saying "anything?" That's all the text said. I didn't reply needless to say.

GingerRodgers · 06/07/2014 20:18

I'd be tempted to reply to any texts with 'yes, had it last week thanks'
But them I'm a mardy git Grin
I know how frustrating it is. Deep breaths and remember, they think they're the first to ask! They can not contain themselves they are so excited.

MsBug · 06/07/2014 20:20

This is why you tell everyone your due date is two weeks later than the real date Wink

Hobby2014 · 06/07/2014 20:25

I'm due on the 31st, and although it's too late to lie about due date, I am jotting the other responses down in readiness! Smile

SellyMevs · 06/07/2014 21:13

They have decided to induce me early..... I just haven't told anyone except my parents and my in laws! For my sanity it's probably best..
